FIBO INNOVATION AWARD 2008

The decision has been taken, the nominees has been chosen. For the ninth time already, the FIBO INNOVATION AWARD will be presented at the INNOVATION FORUM in Hall 7 on April 11th at 3 pm.

Since 2006, the Award of the European Fitness and Wellness Industry has been presented in the categories training equipment, health promotion and sports nutrition, and the response from the industry has been very positive. The opportunity of displaying product innovations to an international audience has acted as an incentive for many exhibitors.

The 60 entries received have shown that the fitness industry continues to hold considerable potential for innovations. The multiplicity shows on the one hand that the market is open for innovations. On the other hand it also needs those improvements due to the fast developments.
Once again this year, only those products were admitted that constitute an advance in development for the entire industry and have been on the market for one year at the most. All participating exhibitors will have the support of a broad-based publicity campaign extending also to other European countries.

The silver seal for the nominees and the golden seal for the winners of the FIBO INNOVATION AWARD underline the international character of the INNOVATION AWARD and is at the same time a distinction for those companies whose products have made it into the finals.

Just as in the past, the TÜV Rheinland Group is responsible for appointing the panel of judges. This year’s experts include Elmar Trunz-Carlisi of the Institut für Prävention und Nachsorge (IPN), Paul Eigenmann, Managing Director of the Swiss certification association Qualitop, Prof. Ingo Froböse, Head of the Cologne Zentrum für Gesundheit, Andreas Leicht, vice editor-in-chief and fitness expert for the fitness magazine Fit for Fun as well as Michael Jungnitsch, Managing Director of TÜV Rheinland Product Safety GmbH. They all found deciding between the products submitted no easy task. We compiled an informative list of all the companies and their products in a PDF file.
