FIBO INNOVATION AWARD 2008: THE WINNER
Suspense right up to the end: 60 applicants had entered this year’s race to win the much-coveted prize which again was awarded in three categories for the best new product development: the most innovative piece of training equipment, the most novel health promotion product and the best new sports nutrition product. In each category three products were nominated by an independent jury under the direction of TÜV Rheinland. “And the winner is…,“ was the motto on 11 April, when this year’s winners received their awards at the stand of the Innovation Forum. The “Fitness-Oscar“ once again was presented by FIT FOR FUN. The prominent laudatory speaker has been Ralf Moeller.

The new BIA 101 Anniversary by AKERN is the first device to allow the application of highly accurate segmental, medical bio-impedance analysis in sports, fitness and nutrition counselling. Bio-impedance analysis, or BIA for short, is the standard procedure today for simple and quick assessment of body composition. In the context of weight reduction and muscle building BIA is an indispensable tool for controlling exercise and nutrition. In a measurement operation of a few seconds only, BIA 101 Anniversary measures muscle mass and relative body volume in the various extremities, the upper and lower as well as the right and left half of the body and in the torso. A new product in the sports nutrition market – the Cell Reloader by Body Attack. The special characteristic of the Carbo-T4 ® formula contained in the Cell Reloader is its capacity to provide a sustained energy supply. As a result, energy is supplied more evenly over an extended period to both the muscles and the brain than is the case with short-chain, quickly absorbable carbohydrates. Blood sugar and insulin levels rise more slowly than with administration of a substance such as glucose.
The combination with D-Glucose-monohydrate in the Cell Reloader can therefore improve the absorption of creatine. Furthermore, the interaction of ingredients can increase the cell volume in the muscles. Body Attack Cell Reloader therefore contains specific ingredients and a special transport system – ensuring even better supply to the cells.
